MIT Technology Review finds and explains the significance of the new technologies that are disrupting existing industries, creating entirely new markets, and changing society. The purpose of EmTech China is clear: the event draws a knowledge graph for those who care about the latest development of technologies.

Sloan Fellowship, Microsoft Faculty Fellowship, Google research award, ARO and AFOSR Young Investigator Awards, NSF Career Award, Early Career Excellence in Research Award at UCI, Best Thesis Award from the ACM Sigmetrics society, IBM Fran Allen PhD fellowship, and several best paper awards.She received her B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Madras in 2004 and her PhD from Cornell University in 2009.She was a postdoctoral researcher at MIT from 2009 to 2010.

Brian Behlendorf

As the primary developer of the Apache web server, and founder and first President of the Apache Software Foundation, Brian Behlendorf's work supported more than half of the websites on the World Wide Web, laying a solid foundation during the early days of the internet. After departing the Apache Software Foundation, Behlendorf joined another major open source software foundation in 2003 – The Mozilla Foundation, and has been a board member ever since. Being a vanguard of the Open Source Software Movement, Behlendorf joined the Linux Foundation in 2016, overseeing the open source blockchain project – Hyperledger. His goal is to repeat the success of Apache Web Server and Mozilla Firefox Browser: to bring the revolutionary technology of blockchain to the masses. Bill Dally is chief scientist at NVIDIA and senior vice president of NVIDIA Research. He is also a Professor of Computer Science at Stanford University. Dr. Dally first joined NVIDIA in 2009 after spending 12 years at Stanford University, where he was chairman of the computer science department and the Willard R. and Inez Kerr Bell Professor of Engineering. Dr. Dally and his Stanford team developed the system architecture, network architecture, signaling, routing and synchronization technology that is found in most large parallel computers today. Dr. Neha Narula is director of the MIT Digital Currency Initiative, where she teaches courses and leads cryptocurrency and blockchain research. While completing her PhD in computer science at MIT, she built fast, scalable databases and secure software systems, and she spoke about these topics at dozens of industry and research conferences. Prof. Xiao’ou Tang is considered one of the most influential scientists of artificial intelligence in China. He is also Associate Director of Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology of Chinese Academy of Science. He served as the Director of Visual Computing at Microsoft Research Asia from 2005 to 2008. In his academic and corporate roles, Prof. Tang taught or mentored many Ph.D students and researchers in the areas of computer vision, pattern recognition, and video processing.Prof. Tang received the Best Paper Award at the IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR) 2009. His work on facial recognition became the first face recognition algorithm that surpassed human performance. Prof. Tang is an IEEE fellow, a program chair of the IEEE International Conference on Computer Vision (ICCV) 2009, and a general chair of ICCV 2019. Aaron VanDevender is the Chief Scientist and a Principal at Founders Fund. He monitors the scientific impact of the portfolio, works with portfolio companies, assesses new technologies, and conducts his own research. Prior to Founders Fund, Aaron was CTO of enterprise war games firm The Prosperity Institute. Aaron has designed single-photon and single-atom quantum computers in academia and government (NIST), advanced the quantum-mechanical theory for microscopic black holes, patented the fastest transparent optical switch, and is a co-inventor of yoctotechnology (named after the smallest unit prefix on the SI scale).
